My son has been on isomil due to an allergy to cows milk when he was very young (2/3mths old - he was on NAN prior to this). He has some cows milk products like yoghurt cheese etc with no effect. I tried to change him to cartons of soya milk at around 12/13mths but he ended up becoming very constipated. with very pale poo nappies, he was also sleeping very badly (well worse than usual) and would drink way more milk than usual as if it was not filling him. I went back to Isomil and he went back to normal in all ways. Can I maybe try this again now 3 months later? Maybe giving him the cartons during the day and the isomil for bedtime? He eats well and healthily during the day but it could be more I think. He does not like the taste of cows milk. I have tried to give him a cows milk bottle to see if it has any effect re allergies but he spits it out.
Is there any certain type of soya milk I should be looking for to try? Are some brands better than others?

Continue on the Isomil2 until he is at least 18 months old, then try the soya in cartons or perhaps another brand of soya milk you can buy in the supermarkets.

MY LO was on Isomil for the first 12 months as well due to a "lactose allergy" she has now grown out of it and I have her on NIDO 1+. My son now 8 was also "lactose intolerant" and he has also grew out of it after a year, if you son is fine with yoghurt and cheese then he has probably out grown his intolerance. I can highly recommend the NIDO 1+, my LO loves it.
