Q.

Soy and dairy intolerance 18 month old

My son has recently developed an intolerance to the soy formula he's been on for the past 8 months. I am now stumped as to what 'milk' I can give him. He won't drink oat milk due to the texture and rice milk is simply foul. I'd really appreciate any suggestions!

It is not absolutely necessary for him to have milk any more as long as he is taking a full mixed diet with meat, fish, chicken etc. Make sure that he takes adequate amounts of fluid in the form of water, rooibos tea and fruit juice. He will need to take additional calcium-speak to your pharmacist about this.

Thanx for the answer! Last night I gave him rooibos with rice milk and he really enjoyed it. I also found Choccy Vites Calcium which he can either eat or dissolve in his tea and which provides 45% of his required calcium. Sjoe - so its less of a crisis than I expected.
