This question comes up on a weekly basis.Underarm odour in a boy this young is not normal and is a sign of early puberty. As your son is only 8 years old this is known as 'precocious puberty' He should be seen by his paediatrician and he may require special tests to find out why he is entering puberty so young.

My daughter also had smelly armpits at the age of 9 I discovered that she eats lots of this red chips they normally buy from the street.

I would suggest that you buy him teen roll on and if he can stop eating those chips you will see the difference.

I doubt the smelly armpits has anything to do with ADHD. Get him to wash thoroughly under his arms, with an antibacterial soap. Maybe you want to try getting him some cream, such as the ones you generally use for athletes foot, to apply under his arm. Will help eliminate any germies causing the odour under his arms.

I am sure he can use a roll on such as dove or nivea (from the girls'' range) to prevent smells.
