A young child should obviously not have bad breath. There are usually many causes for this from chronic mouth breathing due to a blocked nose, tooth decay, tonsillitis, sinusitis, gum infection to yeast infection of the throat. He has to be checked to be sure that none of these causes is responsible for his bad breath. A visit to the dentist would be a good start.
