Q.

sleeping problems

Hi doc, I reaally need help, my son is nine and a half months old, slept through since he was 7weeks old, he eats 3 solid(balanced) meals a day, only drink 600ml of milk a day, have healthy snacks inbetween, I also give him vitamins and omega 3, he takes only two naps a day, i even play calming music in his room, tried a night light and ever since his last injection(rauvax) he wakes up every two to three hours a night, plus he is agitated and grumpy during the day. I am over tired and fresh out of ideas, I just want him to sleep better. Please help us.

Your baby was always good sleeper. Recently he has been having a problem with sleeping and is unhappy during the day. A sudden change like this meands that something is worrying him. It does not appear to be food related, although he does not seem to be drinking enough. He does not need extra vitamins. He could be teething although you would recognise the signs. He may have some other problem, possibly an ear infection. It would be best just to have him seen by his paediatrician as the change in his nature and sleeping pattern has been quite sudden and dranmatic.
