Q.

sleeping disorder

Hi there,
My 6-year-old daughter wakes up during the night more often than not as if she’s just had a nightmare or something. We’ve spoken to our doctor about this and he suggests we take her to a sleep clinic. Do you have any suggestions of where we can find such a clinic? We live in Randburg, Gauteng.

Thanks

This is common and is not something to worry about in a child that is otherwise healthy. So called "night time terrors" are well known and usually only requires that the child be calmed down softly, without waking her. It is a transient phenomenon (it will pass on its own even if it takes many months), that does not require any treatment.
