Q.

sleep time for almost 1 year old

Hi there my little girl is almost 1. She wakes at about 5:45am for her bottle then usually sleeps again for about half an hour at about 9. Then she has a longer sleep at about 2. My question is what time should I put her down to sleep in the evening at this age? Sometimes when I put her down at about 7 - she stands up against her cot and I am not sure whether I should just keep putting her back down or if I should then take her out again and let her stay up later? Please advise!

7 pm is a good time for her to be put to bed in the evening.

Hi Gen
Thanks so much I actually tried what you said we left the light on dim and she played with her teddy and fell asleep. Think she might also have been more comfortable with the light on dim as it is usually off.

Some babies need more sleep than others. At that age, my son was having 3 naps a day 1 half hour and 2, 2 hour naps, I would still insist on him going to bed at 19:00. Babies that age generally need about 11 hours of sleep a night.

If he doesn't want to sleep, it's a nice winding down period for him, I let him lie quietly in his cot and play with his lovey, he soon drifts off.

Try not to let your LO get over stimulated, this could be the reason she doesn't want to go to sleep some nights.
