I do not have any secret advice, but if a child is healthy and thriving his sleep pattern is normally the result of environmental influences. Therefore the best advice is often to put him in an environment where he will be encouraged to sleep (e.g. his own room) and to only give attention during the night if there is a real need e.g. he is ill, dirty nappy, thirsty, cold etc. You may decide on one bottle at night and stick to that, because you know it is sufficient. Often the first few days can be very traumatic, especailly to the mother, but it may be in everyones best interest in the long run. Your baby deserves a mother that is well rested and patient during the day.
