sick baby

good morning
my 13 month old is very sick -he was at the dr yesterday who diagnosed an ear infection, his chest is full of mucous, fever. He is on orelox, ponstan and panado for pain, iliadin, and adco-linctopent for cough. Now he still coughs loads, and is also wheezing, you know that whistling sound, I am a bit worried, and last night he was up for hours screaming, should we take him to a paediatrician?

Your baby seems to have a problem with a viral infection called bronchiolitis. If he is distressed please take him back to your doctor, although he should get better on the medicines he is on.

thanks stef, I try to stay away from stopayne at this age because of the constipation. You are lucky to have such healthy children! I have bought Viral Choice, will start giving it tonight!

Hi muffin,
I feel for is horrible when your baby is sick. I am not a doctor or anything, just helping you out of experience with my kids. Panado is not strong enough for pain and fever, the only medicine i use for my children now 15months en 3years is stopayne.(pain & fever) It really works. They are almost never sick (touch wood), as soon as i see they have a runny nose and starting to get sick, i give them viral choice for colds and flu. Even if they are sick and on antibiotics i still give them viral choice. Iliadin is not working for a runny nose, works sometimes on a blocked nose. Try to use Puma balsem and rub it under his nose, armpits and on his chest. Hope he is getting better soon!!
