Q.

Shaking of head

Good day,

My son (9mnths tomorrow) has periods that he shakes his head vigorously from side to side.(daily) I have asked his paed about this but she does not know what it is. He wil shake his head any time during day/night. He may be half asleep but he may be wide awake as well. Should I be worried? When I try to stop him by putting my hand to his head he will stop immediatly. He is a happy boy and the shaking does not seem to bother him.
Thank you.

Paediatrician

This is most probably perfectly normal especially as your baby is quite happy. My only concern is that babies who have an ear problem or sometimes an eye problem may also do this. For this reason it would be best to ask your paediatrician to see him just to be sure.
