Severe Tummy ache

My 4yr old started with severe tummy pains 2 nights ago. He did not sleep that night. The following moring he went to the toilet and passed a stool. It was little bits. So I thought he may be constipated. He had some cereal and then ge started complaining about his tummy again. I gave him ponado syrip. During the day day he got progressively worse. Was pacing up and down and lying down and then getting up. He vomited twice. I got scopex from the pharmacy which I gave him last night. He eventually feel a sleep and this morning when he got up seemed okay. I gave him a little bit of jelly and then he started complaing. Gave him some more scopex. He seems to be in extreme pain. No fever or running tummy. Do you think this isa tummy bug or could it be his appendix? Should I take him to the doctor?

This is probably not due to a tummy bug. Your son may well have appendicitis and should be seen by a doctor.

It could also be fecal impaction. Please take him to the doc, in your own words he is " in extreme pain."

Mia, does he have any pain when you press on his tummy. Especially on the lower right side. My son had to have an emergency appendectomy for the same symptoms. If I were you, I would take him to the ER straight away and insist that they rule out appendix. If you google appendix in the pead archive you will see my post. If it is his appendix and he is not treated right away, he can die from the infection. Please dont wait.
