Q.

Seven Month old and solids

Morning Doc, my son will be seven months old on the 7th August. For the past month and a half I have been trying to feed him porridge and other vegetable solids in the afternoon. He consistently spits it out and doesn' t seem to know how to swallow. This has led to him waking up a few times during the night for a bottle (he was sleeping through from about two months of age). Please can you advise what I can do to help him eat.

He only needs solids twice a day now. Use rice or maize cereals and apple and pear. He can also start with chicken and vegetables. All foods must be very finely pureed now.
