Q.

S26 Gold

Hi, my little girl is 6weeks old
I am currently breastfeeding - if I do change to formula or want to top-up with formula - is S26 Gold too rich for her little tummy or is it okay to try.
Thanks
Lisa B

S26 Gold is an excellent formula. Your little baby should do well on this formula.

with all the publicity about Nestle Products and Melamine is S26 a safer formula ? what would you reccommend ? my first was on Nan but not really an Ideal Baby

If your baby was born at full term and was well over 3kg then S26 should be okey. Anything earlier or smaller, I found S26 to be a bit too rich. I used Nan with my first baby, Infacare with my second and now Nan HA with my third. You'll have to do a bit of trial & error. If you find that after a week your baby's cramping on S26, then try something else. Good luck!

my daughter was on s26 gold from 10 days, and she thrived on it, the lactation sister said it was the best on the market and to use it if we could afford it. It is much better than Nan I have been told by paeds.

Nan1 is the closest to breast milk

S26 is far too heavy

Buy a small tin of each and try a couple of feeds and check the babies tummy.

Every child is different, I would try S26 Gold as it is "marketed" as the closest thing to Breast Milk, however all formulas are good, my paed doesn't recommend NAN HA as it isn't fortified and would rather put the child on Soya.

I put my little boy on S26 Gold when he was a few weeks old as the Nan gave him cramps.
I have never had a problem since.

Yes, I think it would be.

I guess it all depends on each individual child. I never breastfeed and gave S26 Gold from birth and it upset her tummy terribly as she couldn't digest the milk and gave her horrible tummy ache and cramps.

Depending on what the Paediatrician says I would suggest Nan HA.

Hope you come right.
