my 3 year old son was recently hospitalized with rotavirus. and then he had hepatitis which according to everyone, was rather strange. the problem is that now, a month since being sick, he seems to have to make a major effort to burp and sometimes ends up vomitting. plus he gets really bad motion sickness now. this was never a problem before. please can u advise?

Your son is a bit 'old' to have had a rotavirus infection. The usual age group is 3 months to 2 years. The fact that he had hepatitis as well is most unusual.Has your son fully recovered from the hepatitis as he still seems to get nauseous or vomit more often? Nausea is an important symptom of hepatitis. The fact that he should start with motion sicknes so suddenly and only since his recent illness is unusual. Is there a family history of migraine?I don't want to add to your medical expenses as your son has been in hospital recently but it seems to me that he should see his paediatrician again and should have his blood tests repeated for hepatitis. There are other conditions to consider especially migraine and a condition called pancreatitis.
