Refusing the bottle completly now

Hi doc,
My 6 months baby does not want to be bottlefed anymore. I have tried every trick, he cries for his dear life as soon as i put the bottle in his mouth and he will stick his gums together. If is rooibos tea in his cup he drinks very well but if is milk he cries.

He is on S26 formula.I am so worried about his liquid in take cause he drinks only 125ml a day and i breastfeed him after 5pm cause i am a working mom.At the moment he weigh 8.2kg.i mix his tea with purity juices to avoid using sugar. i just want to know if i can use sugar in his rooibos tea please advise on this.

u advise is always appreciated,

Your baby's main source of nutrition at 6 months is milk, preferably breastmilk. You must not substitute milk with rooibos or any other fluid and nor must you add sugar to any of these liquids. You may need to express breast milk for him to drink from a cup while you are at work.

my baby was like that, she used to like yoghurt so i' d put drinking yoghurt a bit and give her the milk a bit cold n from a cup, she' d drink at least half of it everytime, which was better. but it just passed, now she drinks more, had to change t nan, she was also on s26

I would contact your Paed because a baby of six months should still be having formula. I would ask your Paed for some advise.

Why don' t you use babies rooibos cos there is not need to put sugat in, you just put hot water and wait for it to be cool. That' s what i' m giving my LO. She is also 6 mos and she is weighing 6kg which the doctor said she doesn' t have a problem with it as i was worried but since last week i can see she is putting more weight because she is getting heavy. she likes milk very much, she drinks 300ml bottle in the morning and 150 during the day then 150 before bed time.
