Q.

Reflux or not?

My LO is almost 9 months. I am not sure whether she has reflux or not. Is a way to check if she gains weight normally? Someone said that if it is reflux, she will not gain weight. True?

Weight gain is not always a good indication that a baby does not have reflux. Babies may gain weight but rather slowly. If you suspect your baby of 9 months is still refluxing and she is coughing or is uncomfortable because of the acid reflux or her weight gain is slow then you should see your paediatrician about this.

Not always. When my son had reflux he gained weight normally, however he had a constant wheezy chest and that was because his relux was dripping into his lungs. Another form of reflux is when it just makes them feel ill and miserable, because it burns their throats, I believe it is like having constant heartburn.? Best is to get your LO to a paed and they could best advise. You do get anti=reflux formulas, etc that you could try. Sometimes they outgrow it, but occassionally you have to have surgery (which is what my son had) Good luck.
