Reflux bag - formula advice required!

Thank you in advance for your help!

My baby, 6 months old has reflux &  my paed prescribed Losec (I' m giving him the generic Altosec).
It used to work but now seems to do sweet-bugger-all &  I' m concerned that the reflux wil cause future damage. Someone mentioned that it can cause asthma in later life.

I breastfed for +- 3 months &  from then on have been giving him Nan1 &  now Nan2. He pukes all the time so in desperation am trying Novalac AR. He also strains &  goes red in the face like he needs a pooh - even if I know he' s not constipated - is that the reflux?

My question is - can I just give him this new formula from now on? Is it as good and Nan? It seems to be working better than the Nan2 - there are still pukes but not as much.
He is a big boy (eating solids too) &  I want him to get the nutrients he needs!
The tin of the new formula says 3 feeds a day, but he has 4 a day (sometimes a little top-up before bed as well) - should I feed him 3 Novalac &  1 Nan feed a day?

Sorry for the long essay &  thanks again!

Your son has severe reflux. He should stay on the Losec or Altosec which stops any damage to the oesophagus caused by the stomach acid. He needs an additional medication such as Motilium to stop the actual refluxing. He can certainly stay on the new formula which is an anti-reflux formula. It is an excellent formula. It may cause your son to become a bit constipated which is why he is straining like he is.
