Q.

Rash on babys arm

I have a 15 month old son and he has had a rash/ pimples on both his arms only. They have a bit of white on them (no pus or anything like that), but not red or itchty at all. I thought it was a heat rash at first and dressed him lighly but it is still there. Then I thought it could be his diet and stopped all new foods that i had given him, but that didn't work He was on nido growing up formula, and stopped that this week and put him back onto Nan 2 but still no siginificant change. I mentioned it to our GP and to the Clinic sister who both said that since it does not bother him I should ignore it. My worry is that this has been on his arms for a few weeks now and is starting to look terrible.
Do you have any suggestions on what this could be and suggest a cream that could be helpful.

Thank you

This sounds like a condition called papular urticaria. It can occur as a result of a single flea or mosquito bite and lasts from weeks to months. There is no effective remedy but you could try Phenergan Cream applied twice daily.

Hi! I read up about that papular urticaria, and that's definitely not what my little one has. Went to the health shop, and the guy there said he's seen about 5 kids with it now, including his own, and reckons it's a virus going around. Gave me Colloidal Silver Gel, and it's already starting to look better...

My daughter developed the same rash but all over the body when i was using baby acquoes cream, i stopped using it and used vaseline then it was gone. Investigate maybe you are using something that he is allegic or reacts to. Good Luck!

My girl (now 1yr) had a similar rash which got bad over time, it also did not bother her. The clinic sister also told me to ignore it but it got so bad that her skin started to peel and becae red. I took her to the paed who told me that it is an allergy and gave her some steroid cream. It got better for afew days but re-appeared again. I took her to the paed after a week and she gave her some fat based cream , aquos (spelling) cream mixed with some medication and a drinking medicine for allergies( i will have a look at the names for you and post it on Monday). I'm still using the aqous cream mixture and she has not developed any rash since then.
My advice is take your child to the paed as the rash will only get worse if untreated.

Mine has got the same thing! Started on her thigh, now it's spread to other leg, waist and arms. Also don't know what it is, and also does not seem to be related to any allergies!

Maybe he's allergic to something you don't know of. Why don't you have him tested (RAST) and at least you can then eliminate a few medical concerns about allergies.
