" Jumpy"  baby

First time mom.

My LG is 8months, she just had her third tooth! So for the last 2 weeks she didn' t sleep as well as she used to. And i' m tired too! So i gave her for the last 3 to 4 day every night panado syrup to let her sleep more peacefully, but now she' s very jumpy and scares very easily for everything, she' s at my mom' s during the day and she will not leave my mom' s hip at all, she' s very clingy scared and anxious! Is this because of the syrup or because of me, i still smoke (10 sigarettes) and i' m still breastfeeding her!!

Please can you help

This is a difficult question to answer becuase I am not sure exactly where the problem lies here. Of course you should not be smoking while breastfeeding or indeed smoking at all.The small amounts of nicotine in your breast milk may be making your baby jittery. Other possibilities may be that she is just over-tired because she has not slept soundly lately or a bit of separation anxiety when you take her to her granny's place in the mornings and then go off to work.Just be patient with her and stop smoking. The problem is sure to last for a short time only.

Thanks for your input!

I' m want to take my baby of the breast but she doesn' t want to AT ALL!! I' v tried eveything from Avent bottels to Nuk exct.... she' s teething at the moment and she bites me everyday more and more, so i think it' s time to take her off.

The only problem is, HOW?

hi there .. i' m no expert on this subject but as far as i know it can' t be good for your child to give her panado syrup every night 4 nights in a row .. when a baby is teething, they tend to not sleep ( and eat ) as good as they should and my baby was also very clingy at that age and while teething, all they want is lots of love and attention. buy yourself / your mom a cangaroo thingie ( i bought 1 at toys r us for R75 ) so she can carry her around while doing other stuff like house work ... plus she' ll also fall asleep easy that way when it' s time for a nap. it says on the sigarette packets that smoking is not good for pregnant or women that still breastfeeds. please try and stop while still breastfeeding .. i did it .. so can you. it' s for your baby' s own good ( and yours too ) ..
