potty training problem

My son is now 33 months and has been potty training for the last 10 months. We stopped using nappies during the day from day 1 and he used to have a lot of accidents until we took the night nappy away. He wets his bed every night and should actually still wear a nappy while sleeping but when we use a nappy at night he does all his numbers in his pants during the day. Any advice on what we can do (we do not give him fluids before bed time or during the night). when i take him to the loo during the night he refuse to do anything on the toilet and at the end i put him back in his bed. he will tell me little stories about why his bed is wet (like he was sleeping and then he got wet or that he sat in water he sometimes even say it is his 4 year old brother who put water in his bed). we did not have the same problems with our 4 year old and he was pottytrained within 3 months for day and night). Please help as i do not know what to do anymore.

This is very common indeed. Both you and your son need a good break from this potty training. Stop any potty training or even mentioning the word potty for the next 2 weeks. Let him wear his pull ups at night. After the break start again and use a star chart and reward system ( look this up on Google) be as patient as you can with him and praise any success.
