Poor appetite

Hi doc, im sure you get alot of this, and im not one to force my child to eat, but im seriously starting to worry. My son Calvin is 6 years old, will be seven in January which means he will be starting school. My problem is that at pre-primary the teachers feed him and sit with him till his food is finished as he is a very poor eater, now that he will be going to school im afraid no one will ensure he is eating his lunch and that just worries me. He has a very poor appetite, never hungry and when its eat time its always fight time. Is there any supplement i can give him that will enhance his appetite a bit. He is on scotchs emulsion at the moment. Your input will be highly appreciated. Tnx Rita

Paediatrician

I really think that this is a bit unusual especially in a little boy. I would like him to be checked by a paediatrician to be sure that there is no reason for him not eating such as food allergy, gluten intolerance or some other condition.
