My son is 2yrs & 7months. He has dry cough and breathing very fast when he is asleep. I took him to the doctor and they say it is Lung infection which might lead to Pneumonia. Please tell me what causes this and how to prevent this. We do not smoke cause they say that might be the cause. Is it curable.
From what I know Pneumonia is for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Pneumonia is the official medical term for any type of lung infection. It is very common and not at all an idication of HIV/AIDS, unless it happens repeatedly or is caused by rare organisms. It is usually caused by a virusses or a bacteria and these things are all around us and we usually get them from someone else who has the infection. It is very good that no-one smokes in the house, because that delays the healing process.
