This often an infected hairfollicle that needs to break open. You may encourage this and clean it thoroughly with an appropriate antiseptic, before applying the ointment. If your child becomes feverish or the lesion deteriorates, you need to see your doctor for antibiotic treatment.

Hi Dr Anonymous

Thanks for your reply. the size of the pimple is 1mm on the scalp,it is recurrent cos its been 3weeks now. He hasn't seen the doctor yet I took him to the pharmacist and they gave me an ointment unfortunatly I dont have the name with me. It doesn't bleed but there's puss on the tip and its swallen. it is shaven but I don't think it itches because he doesn't schratch his head.

Thanks

You have to give more info:
1. Size (in mm)
2. Location (Forehead, or scalp?)
3. Is it recurrent?
4. Has it ever been seen by a doctor?
5. What oitment were you given?
6. Does it bleed?
7. IS the child's head shaven?
8. Does it itch.
