pierced ear discharge

My dauget had her ears pierced 3 yrs ago when she was 3ys old. she only weras pure gold ear-rings.

I have noticed that the ear-holes always get a discharge. When I removed the earing the one ear hole is hard and hard stuff come from it. It does not hurt her and occasionaly it does itch.

Why does this happen?

There are 2 possibilities here. The first is that she has an infection in her ear lobes due to the perforations. The second possibility is an allergic contact reaction to the ear rings she wears. Please take her to be seen by her doctor.

Hi mom, happens to me as well, not sure why as I also wear only pure gold. I just soak my earrings in some surgical spirits at least 3 times a week to make sure they are squeaky clean. It does help. And also wipe the lobe with it as a night time routine after a bath. Oh and she needs to turn her earrings often. I suppose some skin is just really super sensitive. Hope this helps.
