Penis and foreskin

I have a 2 year old whos penis is still closed at the top, no head showing. I am slowly trying to push the skin away to clean it, some white stuff. What is the correct way, and age for head to be showing and am i doing the right thing? When should I start worrying? He says ouch when i pull it back maybe a bit too much?

Do not pull his foreskin back. This is not necessary. As long as he can wee normally there is no need for concern. Just clean his penis with a soft washcloth when he is in the bath.

The uncicumcised penis is self cleaning. IF you push the foreskin back you can create scar tissue and cause damage.

Just wash the outside of him like you do with any other part of his body.

The foreskin will gradually retract by itself over time and by about 5 or 6 most boys foreskins have retracted fully.
