Q.

otitis media

My daughter is now 19 months old and has grommets since she was 12 months. Today is the 4th day of exessive otorree from her left ear, it is also fowl smelling. I started on the first day with Exocin/PredForte tds is the ear, after cleaning with 1% Peroxide. It seems to be getting better but is far from healthy. I can only use it for 5 days. Does she need oral antibiotics or must i wait until 5 days is completed?

She probably does not need antibiotics, but it is important to keep mopping up the fluid in her ear canal with clean ear buds. Try and keep her left ear as dry as possible. Keep up the other treatment. If she does not improve you will need to take her back to her ENT surgeon for an opinion.
