Q.

Not sleeping through

Hi,

My baby is 10 months old. She has been sleeping through since she was 2 weeks old but for the last 3/4 months she wakes up in the middle of the night screaming. This can happen up to 5 times a night. Sometimes she has just lost her dummy and I give it to her and she falls back to sleep other times I have to ssshhh her and pat her or actually pick her up because I cannot calm her. Is this normal or should I be worried?

This is very common and usually starts happening when a baby starts teething for the larger teeth-the molars. As long as she has no fever and appears otherwise well this is probably the reason.

Ek wens eintlik my seuntjie het al soveel tandjies gehad.

My son did that when he started teething. Then he would sleep through for a week or so and then start all over again.
