Q.

nose bleeds

hi there my daughter is 3 and a half and about 7 months ago my husband bumped her nose by mistake and broke it as it deviated at the septum. Went to ENT and said cant do anything incase nose does not form properly. since then on the odd occassion my daughter has had about 3 nose bleeds while she is sleeping at night and when she wakes up in the morning she is covered in blood. What should i do?

Your daughter may have developed a 'bleeding point' which is usually from a group of capillaries in the inner lining of her nose. She may need a slight cautery of these small blood vessels. Please ask the ENT surgeon to see her again. You are fully entitled to see another ENT specialist if you would prefer this.
