Q.

Normal heart rate in children

Please could you advise what an average normal heart rate would be for a 14 year old. Is 30+ in a 10 second count during physical activity acceptable? Many thanks.

The normal heart rate in a 14 year old is 72 beats per minute. With vigorous excercise the heart rate can go over 160 beats per minute. Regular excercise and increasing fitness usually results in a significant lowering of the heart rate with future exercise.
