Hi Dr

My son is 16 Months old and still does not sleep well - i think he might be teething but at night I give him Teejel or Painamol and I' m now on Ashton and Parsons. and still he does not sleep his up crying every 2-3 hrs I let him nag / cry for 5 minutes and they only thing that keeps him quiet is a bottle. So by the night end his had 3 bottles for the night, please please please can you advise on some sort of solution to this

Your son's sleeping problem is unlikely to be due to teething. It is more likely that he has become used to getting all of the extra feeds at night. He can have one bottle when he goes to sleep at night. After that if you do not want to have to keep on giving him extra bottles you will need to apply the controlled crying method to get him out of this habit. You will find more about this method on our website or on Google. It is not easy to use this method and it may take more than one night to succeed.

try giving him some stillpain or maybe a dummy mine wants that sucking affect at night, he does not have a dummy but sucks on his empty bottle, when he wakes at night he finds his bottle and suck on it.
