Newborn with hiccups

Hello Doctor,

My two week old baby often has hiccups which results in him vomitting. He drinks/breastfeeds soon after vomitting and does not seem too phased by this. It happens about 4 times a day.

Is there something I can give him to take away the hiccups? It sounds quite sore.

He has gained weight, should I be concerned about the vomitting?

Thank you for your time.

Your baby seems to be having a problem called reflux. It would be best to ask your paediatrician to see your baby.

Give him Telament gripe water or the normal gripe water for hiccups also make sure u wind the baby after every feedings by not doing so it causes the baby to vomit and he swallows some that' s why he gets hiccups, hiccups are noraml in babies even a bit of vomiting is normal

Try telament drops. But hiccups are normal, even babies in the womb get hiccups.

Posseting a bit of milk after feeds is normal, it looks like a lot more than it is. If he is putting on weight, then things are fine.
