I am not sure what you mean by sugar free. Your child appears to have developed an intolerance to a food. Intolerance to rice is extremely rare. Is there any wheat or soya in the cereal you are giving her? Stop the cereal and see if the diarrhoea stops. Use a maize base cereal instead and see if this makes a difference.

BROWN SUAGER IS USUALLY USED TO CLEAR CONSTIPATION , IF YOU WANT TO SLIGHTLY SWEETEN THE CEREAL ADD A BIT BANANA PUREE/MANO PUREE.
THE BANANA WILL HELP TO BIND THE STOMACH.
DIARRHEA IS AROUND CURRENTLY AND MOST TIMES IT WILL CLEAR ITS SELF UP( LIKE MY 5 MONTH OLD) JUST MAKE SURE SHE DRINKS A HYDRATE TO ENSURE THE YOUR BABY DOES NOT GET DEHYDRATED.

Why put that rubbish on her cereal? I never heard of anyone doing that before./

And jsut tohelp -- my baby never had any kind of sugar or sweetener in his rooibos or anything or on his cornflakes he eats now. I raised him to have those taste buds so that he does not have an overly sweet tooth later. He is allowed sweets now but really, don't go and do that.

Are you sure she is ready for solids at that age? I think you should try a bit later on. A 4 month old baby should not need solids and certainly not artificial sweeteners.
