Milk Allergy?

Hi Doc,

My daughter 10 months old has a reddish small rash on her upper body and has dark rough patches around her body joints, thighs, arms that looks like ringworm''''s. Yesterday she had a fever, vomiting and a diarrhea. Could it be an allergy?

She drinks Lactogen, water and eats Cerelac, Purity, Porridge, vegs, Pap n gravy sometimes.

I did take her to the doc 2/3 weeks back for the rash and they gave her ointments the rash did go away but it has come back with the described symptoms above. Is it milk allergy maybe?

Your baby daughter does appear to have an eczema rash. Many babies with eczema are allergic to cows milk. Try her on NAN HA2 and see if this helps.Do not give her cerelac as this cereal contains cows milk. Apply Epimax Junior all over her body after bathing her. Do not use soaps in her bath. If she does not improve it would be best ask a paediatrician to see her.

Hi Doc, My baby girl is 4 months old and has been dealing with eczema since she was 2 months old and when I breast fed her. Now she is formula feed and since last week she has used Nan HA and her eczema is mush better but her Doc advised her to start cereal once a day.Is it OK to start cereal at this age? If yes, I know Cerelac contains cow milk so what should I feed her?
