Menu ideas

When it is supper time - I run out of creative foods to give my 22 month old son. Lunch is his main meal - with veggies and meat - so for supper I try something light - but what..?

Hi Mandy,

Apologies, I gave the wrong internet address:

www DOT iol DOT co DOT za / html / frame_babynet DOT php (NB no spaces in the address of course as this was the only way the system would accept it)

Sorry about that!

Toast with cheese, pasta (macaroni & cheese), 2 minute noodles, scrambled egg, fish vingers/chicken nuggets & chips, veggie vingers

I give lots of fresh fruit - on its own or threaded onto a straw like a kebab, (mango, watermelon, strawberry, peach, plum, pear, grated apple - not threaded obviously), halved and de-pipped grapes, pine apple, kiwi fruit, blue berries, oranges, naartjies etc.

little blocks of cheese, sandwiches (peanut butter, marmite)cut into shapes with a cookie cutter, baked beans, dried fruit - raisins, sultanas, dates, fruit bars, cucumber sliced lenghways, halved cherry tomatoes, tuna, fish fingers, toast soldiers with egg, halved boiled egg, scrambled egg with marmite and cheese on top, mini pizza's with healthy toppings.

I hope there are some ideas in there that would be practical in terms of your lifestyle.

Hi Mandy,

Go to www DOT babynet DOT net - they have plenty of recipes etc that should help.

Also check out Living and Loving and Your Baby magazine. Every month they feature healthy recipes (like Lentil Burgers) for the whole family.
