Hi Dr
I do hope you had a lovely festive season and a long and well deserved break!
Please can you help me, my husband has come down with measles. Both my son who is two and I have not been infected and have none of the early symptoms. We have both had vaccinations.
Without thinking, I sent my son to school today and I am no worried that he may be carrying the virus. I would hate for him to spread it at school! Should I rather keep him at home and if so, for how long. What is the incubation period?
Thank you.

Both you and your son have been immunised and are protected against getting measles.Hopefully all of the children in your son's class have also been immunised against measles. Your son can carry the virus and if you really want to prevent the spread of measles he would have to stay home for 10 days.
