Infants are normally immunised against measles at the age of 9 months.Measles is now exceptionally rare in the community. The features are a high fever for 3 to 4 days, runny nose, conjunctivitis and a rash which appears behind the ears first then spreads over the whole body. The rash fades after 5 days with the skin flaking quite noticeably.
