Q.

Lumpy Eye

Hi,

We have a son that is going to be 2yrs old next month. We have noticed that when it gets cold, he's left eye tends to water a bit. We also noticed during the mornings when he wakes up he's left eye discharges some yellowish mucus.
Please can you adise us on what this may be.

Regards
Dad

Any aye infection can cause some discharge, which is often only visible in the morning. If this is a viral infection it will usually pass within a few weeks. If the condition persists or deteriorates it will require formal evaluation.
