Q.

Lump in 4 year olds neck

Hi my little girl complained this morning of pain in an area of her neck, when i looked i saw this lump i asked her if it's the cause of the pain she replied yes.

We where playing the previous evening and at a stage i must have moved her incorrectly and she said that i hurt her neck, at the same spot the lump is this morning. I did not see any signs of swelling at that stage so i am not sure if this was indeed the cause.

She has no signs of fever or other pain indications except for the lump in the neck.

The lump is unlikely due to trauma. The best advice would be to observe it for a few days, if it remains painful or becomes bigger it requires formal evaluation.
