Low White Blood Cell Count

Hi - would you please advise what it means if a 1 year-old child has a slightly low white blood cell count. Could it possibly be that her immune system is just a bit low at present (from a previous cough and cold)? At present she is basically healthy, happy and very energetic. Could it also possibly be from being allergic to something as although her chest is clear, she does sometimes cough and has a bit of a blocked nose in the mornings (dust mites or pollen)? Her weight is +- 8.9kg and she is an ICSI Frozen Embryo baby. Thank-you :-)

A low white count is often found in children with or following a virus infection, even with a cold. This is usually just a temporary finding and the count soon returns to nomal. A low white blood count is not a sign of an allergy or an allergic illness of any kind.
