Longifene syrup

Hallo dr,

Can you please advise me on my son''s appetite he is 10,5 kg, but the pediatrician is happy, he is 19 months now and has bigger tonsils than the average child. He is also on penicilin because of his tonsils. I can see that he doesn''t have his normal appetite. Is it safe for me to give my child Longifene syrup to increase his appetite, he is currently using Zyrtec daily as well. Thank you.

The average weight for a boy of 19 months is close to 12kg. Your son's weight falls on the 10th percentile line of the children's growth chart. This means that his weight is in the lowest 10% group for boys of this age. His tonsil infections appear to be chronic if he has been put onto Penicillin and must be a factor accounting for his poor appetite.Your son should benefit from having his tonsils removed when he is 2 years old.He is already on Zyrtec which is an antihistamine so he cannot have Longifene which is also an antihistamine medicine.

My son is one and half year old. He has a poor appetite. My doctor advises for use of Buclizine (Longifene). Is it safe to use the syrup to stimulate his appetite?

Hi, My son is 7yrs old, He has been having Tonsils problem lately. When this pain starts, he gets such a painful headache that makes him cry. He can''t sleep, has fever and doesnt want to eat at all and has lost weight.
I''ve taken him for check ups and gets better after taking prescribed medication, and a month or two after, it starts again.
Will it help him if they are removed?

Hi! My son is 5 and a half yr old. His weight 14 n a half kg only. He is very active. Now he is in 1st std and remain in school for 6 hrs. He study well, play well nothing to worry in that manner, but eating is very very poor. He often takes Allerga 30mg once 5ml daily from 3 months. He takes for months then stop for some months then again takes if rash comes. So he is off n on with Allegra 30mg once since 2 years. Now, he is also taking junior Lanzol 15 once in night as he used to get vomiting and nausea. Doctor said to continue for 3months as a course. Aftr having this medicine his vomiting tendency have come done to a great extent but eating habit is still low. Now recently doctor have advice him to take syrup Longifene 2.5ml twice for atleast 3 months. NOW MY QUESTION IS HE IS INTO 2 MEDICINE NOW 1ST ALLEGRA N SECOND IS JUNIOR LANZOL 15, SO CAN HE TAKE SYRUP LONGEFENE? N WILL IT HELP HIM TO INCREASE HIS APPETITE???
