Q.

Jaundice

Hallo Doctor,
My friend at work contracted jaundice she is 55 years old, my baby came in contact with her 3 weeks later, he is now 1 year and 2 months, should I take him for a check up, he never had jaundice at birth? How serious is this disease if he should contract it? What simpsoms will I have to look out for?
Thanks for your time.

It all depens on the cause of the jaundice. Someone who becomes jaundiced at 55yrs of age usually does not pose any threat to baby who has been in casual contact.
