Q.

is it time

Morning

Baby now 16 months. Is it time to get her off the formula and bottle. She is not attached to either in anyway. I do not give her formula at all when she is at home. She only gets it (2 - 3 bottles) during the day at daycare and that' s it. Loves her food. It' s the same over the weekend - 3 bottles a day. She drinks from her bottle, sippy cup, juice through a straw and when assisted, by a cup - there is no real attachment to any. Other than forumal, she drinks rooibos tea and water, occassionaly juice.

Another thing. She has five teeth. Her front ' big tooth'  has a little white dot on it. I brush her teeth everymorning - no flouride tablets given. What could it be from?

Your baby does not need a formula any more and can drink normal full cream milk. The mark her tooth is very common. The usual cause is an excess of natural flouride in the local water as occurs in some parts of SA, but in most cases no cause is found. Fortunately her permanent teeth are unlikely to have the same mark.
