Is it growing pains or should i worry?

On Sat evening, my 2 year old little boy started waking from about midnight, sleeping very restless and when he woke he would be crying and shouting and telling me his legs are sore and i must rub them. I rubbed them and tried to calm him down and eventually he would go back to sleep. When he was in a state and i tried to stand him, his legs were half like jelly and he was shaking. It carried on most the night till after 5 in the morning. Is this growing pains or should i be worried. It has happened 2 or 3 times before, but never as bad as the weekend.

Your little boy is a bit young to be having growing pains now, but it can and does happen that some 2 year olds start to have the typical symptoms. It does seem that your son has growing pains now. It is important that he is not feverish and has no signs of any swelling or redness or increased wamth of any of his joints. Give him Panado if he begins to complain about these pains at night.
