Prolonged wheezing after a viral infection is very common at this age and nothing to worry about as long as the child is drinking well and is not feverish. Asthma is hardly ever diagnosed at this age and only time will tell, but the present wheezing does not put your child a increased risk. It is important not to expose your child to cigarette smoke.
