good day doc
i have been advice by the pharmacy sister to use a humidifier for my 7month old girl. she suffers from eczema and a blocked nose. she cannot sleep at night! and this is very exuasting, for both of us. should i use a cold or hot air humidifier? and wich oil do you recommend with it? i have tried sister lilians rescue sleep, but even that does not help her sleeping. she sleeps from 19:30 up until 22:30 and then is is awake most of the nigh, crying and scratching her elbows - because of the eczema. she cant breath because of the blocked nose and because of this she wont take her bottle or dummy. is there some advice you can give me please. she is on NAN HA. i bath her with bennets cream bar, apply epimax e cream. she also had skincalm, milocort for the itching, but it doesnt help.ive also tried sudocrem. please help me and my little one
thank you so much

Thank you.Your baby girl is almost certainly a highly allergic baby with eczema and allergic rhinitis [nasal allergy] She will benefit from a humdifier using plain water only but this will only help to slightly relieve but not to solve her problem. She has not responded to the usual simple ways of treating her eczema which you have done very well. Her blocked nose is keeping her awake and also her constant itching from her eczema. Your baby must be seen and treated by a paediatric allergist. There are experts in all the main centres in SA.

You can bath her in Rooibos tea. I know this has helped for some babies
