Q.

Hot baby

Hi doc

My son has just turned 2 years old and every night he sweats terribly in his bed. Wen put him to bed with only a nappy on and no covers but he still sweats so badly that I have to turn his pillow over and his sheet has a large wet patch. This is usually just after he falls asleep and dries up later although I have found him to be drenched during the night as well. He goes to bed calmly without fuss or crying and otherwise seems healthy. He can't be getting to hot because his sister sleeps in the same room with a duvet over her and does not seem to get hot at all. Is he just a hot baby or could ther be something wrong with him?

Thanks

I would definitely advise that you do take him to the doctor (paediatrician) to be evaluated. What you descibe does sound highly unusual, especially if this is a new observation.
