High temp for 24hrs.

10yr old''s temp of 39.8 for 24hrs.nothing is helping - given suppositories, ponstan, cool bath and cloth etc - what else can I try?????

There must be a reason why your child has such a high fever. One possibility is a bladder or urinary system infection. You have been unable to reduce his/her fever by using many of the usual medicines and other measures such as bathing and sponging. Your child must be seen by a doctor.

oh dear, a troll this ''anon''...just ignore him/her.

Mandy, I alway keep Voltaren suppositories on hand for such cases where nothing will bring down his temp. If the Voltaren doesn''t help, then you should take him to your doc, or nearest clinic/hospital if it is after hours.

What utter hogwash above!! You need to take your child to a doctor as the child has an infection of sorts that needs medical treatment.
