Q.

Hepatitis A

Dear Sir

My daughter was admitted to hospital on Sat 24 Mar 07 and has been discharged. The Dr attending to her did not give any medication as he said there's no treatment for Hepatitis A. She has severe tummy cramps. Am I allowed to give any medication as I'm scared I could cause more damage to her liver. What can I do to help her. Please give advise as she is in pain and don't know what to do.

Thanks

She should not be in any pain with Hepatitis A. Please take her back to your doctor about this. There is no effective medicine for treating Hepatitis A which clears up by itself.
