Heater and humidifier in room

I just want to ask, i have a 18 mnth old son and we live in a duplex and in winter the room upstairs gets very very cold. I currently use a heater and a humidifier but i just want to know is this bad or good. My son is currently sick because he had ear infection and has now gotten grommets. I am not sure if i should rather only keep the humidifier on (which means the room will be cold) or if i should only use the heater as this dries up the air but at least the room is warm. Please advise on this. Thanking you in advance

This really depends on where you live. If you are on the Highveld where the normal humidity is low during the winter so it is good to use a humidifier. It will be of benefit to your son. At the coast the normal humidity is high and it is usually not necesssary to use a humidifier. You can use a heater to warm your son's room but keep this on a reasonably low setting so as not to make the room too hot and also so as not to dry the air in his room to much either.
