There are no absolute right weight and the only way to evaluate a child's weight is by comparing the current weight to previous weight measurements on the road to health chart (The card that your child got at birth that also documents all the immunisations). Your local clinic should be able to assist. Both you children are heavier than average, but a healthy balanced diet (no sweets/chips or fast food and lots of fruit and vegetables) together with normal physical activity should be encouraged. Remember we set the example by our own eating and exercise habits. Children should be encouraged to be physically active by e.g. walking and playing with us, playing with their friends etc., without following a formal training program. You may also ask our online dietician for advice.

Both your kids are sitting in between 60 & 97th centile for weight (above average).
You mention little ones bwt was 4,5kg. THis may suggest that you might have had diabetes or Glucose intolerance in your pregnancy.
So yes, you must be concerned about diabetes running in the family.
See you paed & he will educate you on how to pick the earliest sign & how lifestyle can be adjusted to prevent severe forms of diabetes.Ask him about all the blood tests that can be done including "Oral Glucose tolerance test" as well as "Insulin levels"
Also ask him about "Metabolic syndrome".
Also try to involve a dietician.
